Hi Joe,
Just finished reading “Backstage Pass” and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it!
Having grown up in Northeastern Ohio and also knowing many of the folks you mention, the book brought back some very nice memories.
Laughed outloud many times…especially at the Joe W. “oops” after crashing the model plane. Could see and hear it all in my mind. What a character…one of my favorite people in the world…. have known him since before I could drive!
Also, I read alot of musicians’ bios and autobiographies,( both for my work and just ’cause I love it.) and I must add that its wonderful to read a book which centers on being a good, solid working musician as opposed to focusing on the sex and drugs. The rock and roll is the important part…right?
Really enjoyed it and actually didn’t want it to end.
Wishing you continued good luck and safety (especially flying!)
Sincerely, a fellow Ohioan…(now living in Maine..Dan F. always did have good taste),

ps. I’ll be mentioning excerpts from the book every chance I get on the air….
Joe,
I’m a drummer originally from Pittsburgh, and a longtime fan. I was listening to the “Bob and Tom show” today and they announced that you will be on the show on monday. I’m looking forward to it. I went out and bought the book today and have already finished reading it.
Bob and Tom are “dog people”. You should tell them the story about the wet police dog. (on page 96) It made me laugh out loud. Your stories of the road are great. I never got beyond the local band stage although I played in clubs for over 30 years. Your love of your wife and son really come through in the book and you seem like a very well grounded artist.
Good luck and may you enjoy much more success in the future.

Thanks so much Susie! You guys did a great job on “Backstage Pass”!
I work at Barnes and Noble as my “day job,” and put “Backstage Pass” on special
display so it gets seen right away by everyone who visits our rock and roll section.
Perhaps there’s a follow up in the future? I sure hope so!
Take care and may you and Joe both keep up the great work in everything you do!
All the Best, Beverly
