The bookcase is the traditional way to display your books. But so many publishers put so much effort into front cover designs with wonderful results. Bookstores know this for the marketing potential and face some books out on their shelves. But I don’t know many people who do this on their own bookshelves at home.
papernstitch has a different way to display your books face-out. They took the art wall idea and used books for this creative alternative book art wall.
The books they use here are primarily used for color, but I imagine you could rig this up to include your favorite cover art as well. And the best part is that the books aren’t destroyed. You can take them down from the art piece to read and reread.
This week of our e11even series has focused on artsy book projects. Check back tomorrow for the final art project for the week (though a few more may sneak in during the remainder of the e11even series).
We are kicking off 2011 with eleven weeks of fun and interesting websites. Whether you find inspiration, relaxation, or just a laugh, we hope you enjoy these sites related to publishing and books.
